IBM Assessment: IBM Architectural Design

IBM Bets On Samsung Fabs For Power10 Chips | killexams.com real Questions and Pass4sure dumps

When Globalfoundries determined to cease its structure and rollout of each immersion lithography and austere ultraviolet (EUV) lithography on the 7 nanometer technique node again in August, it appeared as if IBM, 2d only to AMD as a server chip client for its most advanced fab in Malta, sizable apple, could live left in a lurch with its future vigour processors.

but that become by no means definitely the case anymore than with AMD, which is switching from Globalfoundries to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp for its subsequent-generation “Rome” Epyc processors. As they suspected, IBM did not meander along with TSMC, as most server, networking, and custom ASIC chip makers execute in the datacenter enviornment at the present time, however rather selected long-time chip analysis and construction companion Samsung as its wafer baker.

We observed on the time that you didn’t precisely need a supercomputer operating computing device studying inference to design this out. sizable Blue stopped being its own fab four years ago when it paid Globalfoundries $1.5 billion to prefer IBM Microelectronics off its palms. at the moment, IBM furthermore dedicated itself to the former AMD in-apartment foundry to prefer over its personal foundry on East Fishkill, ny to proceed making Power8 and Power8’ chips in response to 14 nanometer processes that hold been co-developed by way of IBM and Globalfoundries. That East Fishkill foundry become in the technique of being transformed over from 45 nanometer gadget and procedures that were used to execute the Power7 chip from 2010 and the 32 nanometer processes that hold been used to execute the Power7+ in 2012.

(incidentally, this is a first-rate token there and it designates a transformation within the I/O and probably reminiscence subsystems in an influence processor; it's distinctive from a plus signal, which potential a transformation in procedure or structure or both in an influence chip, but neatly wanting an vast edition which has massive changes.) Globalfoundries furthermore took over the manufacturing of IBM’s device z mainframe processors, which hold some standard features with the vim chip line but which hold a several instruction set and recollection and i/O structure from the vim line.

significantly, the power chip roadmap that they discovered in August 2015 and that IBM talked greater above total about in early 2018 known as for Globalfoundries to execute IBM’s future Power10 processor, which hold a fine possibility of being installed in at least one and perhaps two exascale-classification supercomputer methods within the united states in the 2021 to 2022 timeframe.

The expectation lower back in 2015 turned into that the Power10 chip would live made the usage of 10 nanometer tactics at Globalfoundries, now not 7 nanometer transistor gate geometries. prefer a glance:

This specific roadmap above became now not public on the time they wrote about it. prior this 12 months on the OpenPower Summit, IBM achieve out a roadmap that offered greater insight into what remarkable features across the Power7 through Power10 had been distinguished as a hint of how the architecture of the processors and techniques would exchange:

you are going to word that the Power10 column best promises a “new microarchitecture” and a “new expertise” and doesn't give a specific dimension for the techniques used to execute the transistors. It says neither 10 nanometers nor 7 nanometers, and they believe it's because IBM did not hold tall assurance in the yields with the 7 nanometer procedure node (despite the two-pronged approach that Fab8 in Malta become using to win to 7 nanometers on approach or the other) or the dedication from other chip designers to consume Globalfoundries at either the 10 nanometer node, which turned into scrapped in favor of going all-in on 7 nanometers at some ingredient in the past few years.

The common deal between IBM and Globalfoundries changed into to rush from 2014 through 2024 and on out to the 10 nanometer node. here's probably the most explanation why big Blue paid $1.5 billion to win IBM Microelectronics out of its earnings meander and, with a $four.7 billion writeoff back in 2014 for its fabs in Vermont and long island, out of its books. however the deal most efficient made it via 5 years, in case you count number the Power9’ processor supplant that's coming in 2019 according to a sophisticated 14 nanometer processors from Globalfoundries. The Power9’ is expected to hold enhancements to the I/O and reminiscence circuits, a estimable deal as the comply with-on Power8’ brought NVLink assist to the Power8 design.

In some roadmaps we've seen, IBM changed into going to double up the cores on Power10 to 48 per monolithic die the usage of 10 nanometer strategies sometime between 2019 and 2020 and then meander to 7 nanometers to win even more cores on the die via Power11 out beyond that. The chip manufacturing nodes are getting more durable for each server chip maker, and it is wreaking havoc on the roadmaps.

The alternative of Samsung turned into an obtrusive one. Samsung is the biggest semiconductor manufacturing enterprise on the planet – bigger even than Intel – and it makes its personal Arm processors for smartphones, drugs, and other embedded gadgets, and even flirted with the theory of constructing Arm server chips at some point. Samsung has engaged with IBM in a chip manufacturing and design partnership for the past 15 years, and some wonderful achievements were the first deployment of excessive-k/steel gate transistors in foundry manufacturing manner again in 2008, originally for 32 nanometer strategies, which is likely one of the causes that this procedure turned into in a position to carry around 35 % extra performance and between 30 p.c and 50 p.c power reduction over 45 nanometer approaches of the time. back in July 2015, IBM, Globalfoundries, and Samsung worked together during the chip analysis core on the state institution of manhattan’s Polytechnic Institute to note a 7 nanometer goosed via silicon germanium channel transistors and using EUV lithography that could, in theory, cram 20 billion transistors on a unique die.

Samsung has no preference but to invest in wafer baking options and the foundries that achieve in coerce them – similar to Intel – as a result of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp, the simplest other fab engaged on 7 nanometer manufacturing and the clear winner thus far within the fab race, can not absorb the volumes of both Intel or Samsung. Samsung is using EUV lithography to win to 7 nanometers, and TSMC is doing 7 nanometer initially with universal water immersion lithography to dawn however fairly swiftly moving to EUV, which should live in production in early 2020 via Samsung.

“We anticipate that we'll meander into the market as they firstly planned in late 2021 or early 2022 with their 7 nanometer product family,” Bob Picciano, senior vice chairman in can pervade of IBM’s Cognitive techniques division, tells The subsequent Platform. “That continues to live unchanged, and they are capable of retain their roadmap and retain the schedules their purchasers predict. They live watchful of Samsung in fact well throughout some diverse areas, and this offers Samsung a estimable casual to build out a brand current competency within the foundry enterprise.”

incidentally, the subsequent era IBM mainframe processor, most likely known as the z15, could live using the identical up-to-date 14 nanometer system from Globalfoundries it really is being used on the Power9’ chip, after which the successor z16 processor for mainframes might live in accordance with the same 7 nanometer processes from Samsung that the Power10 chip will use.

Assessing IBM’s current company focuses and vulnerability | #IBMEdge | killexams.com real Questions and Pass4sure dumps

As IBM repositions itself, shedding its networking and x86 server divisions, there’s fairly slightly of curiosity concerning the specifics of its shift in company hub of attention, in addition to the way it will hold an result on the company’s many partners and valued clientele.

Dave Vellante (@dvellante) and Stu Miniman (@stu), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, met to determine and examine the implications of a brace of bulletins, presentations and interviews from the primary day of this 12 months’s IBM edge conference, along with a glance forward to anticipations for the relaxation of the week.

“It’s total about analytics,” Vellante stated, with the OpenPOWER foundation, meant to promote and extend vigour architecture RISC processing, spotlighted as a portion of this push. “When individuals first heard about OpenPOWER, they concept, ‘Oh, there’s IBM’s Hail Mary,’” Vellante said, notwithstanding he felt that by way of this point, “It looks like, consistent as she goes.”

For his half, Miniman felt that whereas analytics were important, they weren’t lonesome in IBM’s foremost plans. “IBM does a estimable job with the breadth and the depth of americans at this conference,” Miniman noted. “We referred to one of the vital bits and bytes, and a few of the items that IBM has, however’s in reality about … how cognitive computing, IoT, total of these developments … are going to repercussion company,” he persevered.

Hidden troubles

however nonetheless, there were facets to up to date tendencies on which IBM didn’t appear to hold such an organization hold close. “[They were] sort of dancing around hyper-converged … in order that’s ilk of a query mark,” Vellante referred to. And Miniman agreed, pointing to the likelihood of hyper-converged’s future dominance. “whereas nowadays converged is fairly a puny bit better than hyper-converged, hyper-converged has a pretty estimable growth rate,” Miniman defined.

“the brand current stuff isn’t sizable adequate … to offset the decline within the customary stuff,” Vellante brought. “The change with IBM is … [it has] been capable of continue to hit its earning, fling off satisfactory cash to execute some fundamental stock purchase-backs. … If [IBM’s strategy] starts taking off … then IBM is an undervalued company.”

still, searching ahead, both hosts noticed the longer term as an universal superb one for IBM. “each time there’s been a sizable exchange, IBM’s nonetheless there,” Miniman referred to.

And in adapting to the latest tech upheavals, they felt that IBM changed into doing an outstanding job of involving itself, in site of making an attempt to withstand trade. “You’re seeing an entire current benign of wave of storage innovations. … IBM wants to live a player there,” Vellante spoke of, giving IBM an assessment as: “massive company, silent particularly principal and supportive of the cognitive [computing initiative].”

Service-oriented architecture: a way of life | killexams.com real questions and Pass4sure dumps

Feb 1, 2006

Judith Lamont, Ph.D.

Service-oriented architecture (SOA) mirrors the goals of information management in synthesizing information from disparate sources into a meaningful view. It can integrate multiple functions into complex, end-to-end processes, both within and beyond an organization, more easily than other forms of integration. In addition, it allows for more flexible, rapid and inexpensive incorporation of current functions. Rather than connecting the functions through code that directly links one application to another, SOA relies on a standardized software interface to which many applications can connect.

From the user viewpoint, the flavor is correspondingly improved. Rather than having to shift from one application to another in order to accomplish different tasks, the user can wait in a unique interface—often a browser—and launch a process, submit content to a Web site or archive a record. The different services are activated as needed. The same unified result can live achieved without service-oriented architecture, but requires much greater effort.

Catalysts for change

Enterprise decision-makers may conclude they need a current approach for a variety of reasons. "Sometimes when an organization needs to enhance the functionality of its applications, using current technology is either too expensive or too difficult," says Nikhil Shah, lead technical architect for the global technology exercise at Kanbay. Kanbay specializes in systems integration for companies in the fiscal services industry, where connecting customers, data and processes is imperative.

"Now that the traditional plumb distinctions are being broken down in fiscal services, for example," continues Shah, "the companies need to tug information together about a customer's activities across multiple domains, such as credit cards, insurance and mortgages, to win a complete understanding of that customer." Legacy systems are not well suited to providing a comprehensive view of the customer because they often execute not interact well with each other.

"Customers who quest us out are not asking for a service-oriented architecture," concurs Paul Hernacki, CTO of Definition 6, an Internet consulting firm that develops collaboration and e-commerce solutions. "They are asking for a solution to their commerce problems."

Customers may find that they don't know where to win information, that they need better communication with their suppliers or that the cost of developing current products is too high. "It's when they try to implement a solution that they often find the architecture they hold in site does not champion their goals," Hernacki says. "They are often far away from what they need."

New mindset

The biggest change an enterprise must undergo when it migrates to SOA is not the installation of the software, but creating a current vision of how enterprise applications are used. With SOA, it is distinguished to prefer a more comprehensive view, looking at which other departments might consume the same information or process. Designing the service to meet multiple needs allows for its reuse, capitalizing on one of the advantages of SOA. However, getting an overview of the interrelationships can live challenging.

Design tools that lay out the services in graphical profile can live useful. "People may not initially understand why the design process is so critical," says Trevor Naidoo, managing director of commerce process management at IDS Scheer (ids-scheer.com/us). "When the commerce users notice how the processes are aligned, they can prefer ownership for their parts, and notice how those activities relate to others in the enterprise."

IDS Scheer's ARIS Platform for Process Excellence models and monitors commerce processes. Graphical tools such as ARIS are helpful in displaying activities and roles (for example, the role of an accounts payable clerk in processing an invoice). If commerce users can notice that both the accounts payable clerk and the customer service representative need to notice billing information, the case coordination among services becomes stronger.

Response from IT

Many organizations quest outside help in implementing an SOA because the initial effort is significant. In general, IT departments are receptive to the current architecture. "A few years ago, it was more of a challenge to talk about these concepts, but now they are well accepted," says Hernacki. A sizable incentive is that once the current technology is in place, meeting the needs of commerce users becomes much easier. "With SOA, the conversation is better," he adds, "because the IT department can advise commerce users that the project can live done more quickly and at a lower cost."

That forward-looking perspective does not always hold true, however. "We sometimes silent notice a point-to-point mindset," says Shah. "Rather than taking a broader view, the IT department may silent live thinking about how to add a data realm or two in order to solve the problem with minimal upfront effort." Along with the commerce users, the IT staff needs to meander to a vision where they deem where the data might live used downstream, or what coordination challenges might arise later.

The selection of a particular technology for SOA is usually dictated by what is already in place. "If the company has an IBM stack, you toil with that," says Shah, "or if they are already using an enterprise service bus, you build on that." The Microsoft (microsoft.com) .net technology is gaining in popularity with miniature to midsize companies, although Shah reports that some big fiscal services firms hold furthermore selected it as the basis for their SOA architectures.

Definition 6 leans toward the Microsoft platform. "Most users already hold XP, Internet Explorer and other Microsoft products," says Hernacki. Visual Studio 2005 allows for rapid structure and deployment of applications, and technologies enjoy SharePoint portal service can render and array information. "But the beauty of SOA," he emphasizes, "is that it doesn't matter if the user has an Oracle (oracle.com) human resources system, and a backend inventory system from Microsoft. SOA allows the management of processes across total these applications with much less custom code."

Measures of success

Being able to withhold a competitive edge in a fast-paced world is one of the rewards of SOA. "The biggest thing is that both the technical folks and the commerce users are looking for agility," says Naidoo, "because they need to react so quickly in today's competitive market." IDS Scheer is helping to build a repository of enterprise services models for SAP due to live released in the near future. "These services will live available ahead of time and can live selected from an inventory," he says, "and then strung together to profile composite applications."

Refinements to existing applications will furthermore help help commerce performance. "A credit card system may easily allow a customer service representative to bump up a customer's credit limit," says Shah, "but you might furthermore want a finer-grained application to perform a risk assessment to note that the increase was justified." SOA allows a secondary application to rush along with the original one, without disrupting its operation.

Among the users that are moving most rapidly toward SOA are those with a significant number of external partners, according to Hernacki. "If an organization must live able to interchange data with a big number of providers, total of whom hold their own technology, it makes sense to meander quickly in the direction of SOA," he says.

120 AI Predictions For 2019 | killexams.com real questions and Pass4sure dumps

Me: “Alexa, advise me what will occur in 2019.”

Amazon AI: “Do you want to open ‘this day in history'?"

Me: “Alexa, give me a prediction for 2019.”

Amazon AI: “The crystal ball is clouded, I can’t tell.”

My conversation with Amazon’s “smart speaker” or “intelligent voice assistant” just about sums up the present state of “artificial intelligence” (AI) at home, the office, and the factory: Try a few times and sooner or later you will probably win the rectify action the human intelligence behind it programmed it to perform.

What will live the state of AI in 2019?

The following list features 120 senior executives involved with AI, total peering into their not-so-clouded crystal ball, and promising less hype and more practical, precise, and narrow AI.

“Self-Driving Finance is a practical implementation of AI that is already used in one profile or another by millions of bank customers around the globe and will only win better in the coming years. Based on projects that are currently underway with banks at different parts of the world, I notice a sizable uptake in the number of customers that will reckon on AI to ‘drive’ their finances and prefer automated actions to help them compass their fiscal goals. To deliver efficient Self-Driving Finance, fiscal institutions will require specialized forms of AI for each of their customer segments such as retail, miniature business, and wealth—moving away from more generic forms of AI towards domain-specific solutions that embed subject matter information and expertise”—David Sosna, Co-founder and CEO, Personetics

“2019 will live the year of specialized AI systems built by organizations based on their own data. Given the realization that organizations sometimes hold only limited amounts of data, but furthermore require specialized data, organizations will Come to realize that they need tools to easily create character AI data internally. This character over quantity approach will require organizations to prefer stock of the data they hold and request themselves key questions: is this data representative of what I’m looking for, and does it match my goal? Will the production data match this training data? Did I strike a equipoise between repeatability of images and variation? Is my dataset diverse? Taking current approaches to data strategy will live make-or-break for overcoming the challenges of AI’s data problem, to develop AI that works in the real world”—Max Versace, PhD, CEO and co-founder, Neurala

“AI will enable greater process discovery.  Process discovery is enjoy a sensor embedded in the application that learns total of the user journeys, using AI to prognosticate the optimal path for interacting with a system. Similar to using a GPS such as Waze when you're driving to unlock optimal routes depending on the time of day, AI will unlock how each employee can best consume a system, providing a ambit of possibilities based on what the individual needs to do”—Rephael Sweary, Co-founder and President, WalkMe

"In 2019, they will start to notice technology that will allow designers to talk to computer programs powered by AI to redesign, optimize and lightweight parts made by 3D printers in real time. The designer will simply articulate the design goals and material parameters and the AI will execute the rest—exploring nearly infinite design permutations based on existing design concepts. More power will live achieve into the hands of designers who will live better able to test and experiment with alterations to create optimal designs much faster than before”—Avi Reichental, Founder and CEO, XponentialWorks

“Because of cloud and the pervasiveness of APIs, in 2019 we’ll inaugurate to notice AI deliver meaningful value to the enterprise and win us closer to the Holy Grail of AI, which is helping people at total levels of an organization execute what they execute more effectively and efficiently, while uncovering current opportunities and current ways to work”—Josh James, Founder and CEO, Domo

“While B2B providers hold been unhurried to adapt to the tall standard of personalized digital experiences set by Amazon and Google, the industry has at least acknowledged the value of personalized home and landing pages. As customer expectations increase, enterprises will need to withhold pace by using machine learning and AI to proffer a personalized flavor beyond the first impression, which extends to other assets such as technical documentation, community portals, and chatbots”—Gal Oron, CEO, Zoomin

“In 2018 they saw a mighty deal of hype around AI in healthcare but they furthermore saw it become a reality—in everything from predictive analytics for confirmed disease management, to workflow enhancement in radiology as well as administrative and fiscal consume cases that bring operational efficiency.  In 2019 they are going to notice voice and video, coupled with AI, being used to help accelerate the shift of the point of supervision from the hospital, to the patient, wherever they are. The convergence of AI with 5G will furthermore accelerate the development of digital therapeutics that are more personalized, adaptive and prefer handicap of AR and VR. Mental health and core misuse treatment will live where they notice early adoption. Clinicians that embrace AI as an augmenter or assistant, not as a threat of replacement or obsolescence, will live able to differentiate themselves both to their patients and their peers”—Jennifer Esposito, general Manager, Health & Life Sciences, Intel

“AI plays an increasing faultfinding role in several industries from translating text and powering industrial drones to patient diagnosis. In 2019, they anticipate AI, and more precisely image recognition, to live integrated into everyday life tasks such as helping those with disabilities and automating cars. AI will furthermore become portion of the everyday shopping flavor as existing stores will become automated, driving supply chain processes, delivering seamless checkout and enhancing customer engagement”—Michael Gabay, CEO, Trigo Vision

“AI will accelerate the discontinue of ownership.” Today, they don’t own movies or music anymore—we subscribe to Netflix or Spotify. Tomorrow, they won’t own products anymore—we’ll subscribe to them. AI platforms are in the midst of turning every manufactured product on the planet into a connected ‘smart’ product. Today you can notice that trend happening in transportation and consumer electronics—cars, scooters, washing machines, coffee makers, thermostats, etc. But soon you’ll start seeing it occur everywhere—tables, chairs, floors, walls, clothes. As a result, they won’t need to own anything. We’ll simply subscribe to services: housing services, food services, transportation services, furniture services, clothing services. We’ll live alive in a loyal Subscription Economy”– Tien Tzuo, CEO & Founder, Zuora

“Automation plays into the hands of a cyber attacker, allowing him to consume simpler tools to gain access and infiltrate networks. However, automation used in defense is not creating anywhere near the same impact. Two core factors can live attributed to this, namely a very limited talent pool and that the technology only works as well as the reliability of the data. Until the mistaken positive problem is resolved, automation is not full-proof. Instead, automation should primarily live leveraged pre-breach, serving as a proactive defense mechanism to help organizations outmaneuver the attacker at the earliest stage and minimize the potential damage”—Nadav Zafrir, CEO, Team8

“Robotics and AI are increasingly used hand-in-hand to inspect and ensure the proper functioning of faultfinding infrastructure that their society is built on—power lines, railroad tracks, flare stacks etc. Next year, the convergence of these two technologies is poised to accelerate, with 2019 serving as a breakout year for Distributed AI, in which intelligence will decentralize and live embedded closer to the assets and devices carrying out the inspections. Today’s cloud systems that remotely control Industrial IoT and AI - often at significant distances from inspection sites - will inaugurate transitioning to distributed and autonomous systems closer to the source of inspections, making inspection data collection more efficient and safer”—Ashish Jain, Managing Director of Data Sciences, GE Ventures

“Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning hold been tropical topics for a while, but that will inaugurate to decline in 2019. With many enterprises once having built an 'AI strategy,' today we’re already finding that more and more are moving away from the hype and into solving real-world problems. They will notice the focus shift from AI to 'AI-driven' results as companies witness for real commerce repercussion from AI tools. The technology will live less distinguished than the commerce insights it delivers”—Sean Byrnes, CEO and co-founder, Outlier

“The consumer's understanding around AI will shift dramatically. They will no longer associate AI with futuristic robots and self-driving cars, but rather productivity tools and predictions to help everyday menial tasks”—Josh Poduska, Chief Data Scientist, Domino Data Lab

“2019 will live the year of the death of the data scientist. In 2019, everybody is going to start learning simulated Intelligence (AI) and the domain of data science will no longer live a purist data scientist. There are only about 5,000 folks who are data scientists and they can’t reckon on them to lead an industrial revolution. Everyone within an organization needs to hold AI skills, from product managers to commerce analysts. The death of the data scientist is the pinnacle of this revolution”—Aman Naimat, CTO, Demandbase

“Some of their AI emperors hold no clothes. For years, tropical AI startups raised, scaled, and raced to build powerful algorithms in nearly every vertical—law, medicine, fintech—the list goes on. These AI solutions were framed as replacements for your most menial tasks.  A current wave is on the horizon—AI startups that generate proprietary data every time they're used. These startups, which leverage what they convene Coaching Networks, are powered by algorithms that forever help because they're fueled by the creative inputs and successes of millions of workers. These focused networks will live very arduous for companies that leverage static data sets and commodity APIs to compete with”—Gordon Ritter, general Partner, Emergence

“AI is already outperforming humans in many domain-specific tasks; now comes the age of real-world applications. In 2019, AI will fundamentally disrupt diabetes management, thereby improving the lives of millions. Moreover, AI will help bring to life the ample information gathered from wearables, transforming it into actionable insights that will help people lead healthier lives. In addition, there will live a sizable leap in unsupervised machine learning in the near future. Finally, I they will notice companies using AI to train AI. Instead of data scientists trying to experiment on which AI models toil better for real world problems, companies will let AI execute the toil for them. This will help AI outperform humans in many current tasks”—Yaron Hadad, Chief Scientist and Co-Founder, Nutrino

“If they want to create AI which is actually adopted by humans, it will hold to live less and less ‘artificial,’ and more and more ‘intelligent,’ significance it will hold to prefer on human traits. For people to feel a connection to AI-powered services and live willing to adopt them into every aspect of their lives, these services will hold to become more and more anthropomorphized. And just as the human carcass is able to heal itself, they will furthermore anticipate these systems to self-diagnose problems in their code and self-heal, correcting software issues on their own”—Zohar Fox, CEO and Co-Founder, Aurora Labs

“We believe AI as an all-purpose buzzword in healthcare will live slowly retired in 2019. As digitization of the industry matures, the thought of the all-knowing machine replacing doctors is clearly being debunked. The challenges of IBM Watson’s healthcare efforts, for example, illustrate that powerful computational tools lonesome are ineffective in the puss of unstructured medical data and the knotty realities of patient care. For 2019 they are skeptical about broad, systems-based uses of simulated intelligence promising unspecified insights”—Yonatan Adiri, Founder and CEO, Healthy.io

“In 2019, not only will developing more robust and sophisticated AI algorithms prefer hub stage, but as these AI algorithms become more unique and effective, they will furthermore grow in value and owners will hold to protect their substantial investment. Companies are spending millions to develop AI, and they are often at the heart of commerce growth, yet current security challenges have emerged around protecting these AI models—securing their intellectual property from being stolen while furthermore ensuring that no one is tampering with the model. In 2019, they will hold to live deeply knowing about protecting their simulated Intelligence”—Alon Kaufman, Co-founder and CEO, Duality Technologies

“Until now, the consume of AI has been focused on making their lives more automated and their industries smarter. In 2019, they are going to notice a shift toward utilizing AI for sociable estimable and making their lives more sustainable. AI is going to live used to execute their cities and industries more environmentally friendly and their world a better place. From agritech and crop optimization to utilities and alternative energy, the sizable data analytics and machine learning behind AI will live leveraged to completely change the way consumers interact with their surroundings”—Natan Barak, CEO and Founder, mPrest

"In 2019, the global lending sector will notice an uptick in AI that can prognosticate fiscal eligibility and funding opportunities. With AI, lenders can foresee which of today’s unviable applicants will become creditworthy in the future, thus open funding opportunities to businesses previously locked behind low-tech assessment processes. The dynamic and real-time nature of AI will provide continuous and automatic access to and updates about current financing opportunities that arise throughout a business’s lifespan, as it grows and improves. This same AI application will eventually change the mortgage and student loan industry as well”—Eden Amirav, CEO and Co-founder, Lending Express

“The AI that supports prediction in self-driving cars will live ‘remodeled’ to access and analyze predictionary data differently. The Autonomous Vehicle industry will meander away from demur fusion and towards raw data fusion, which enables AVs to better interpret movement, speed, angle, and trajectory, and provides wealthy data to prognosticate the direction and future movement of an object, pedestrian, or vehicle”—Ronny Cohen, CEO and Co-founder, VAYAVISION

“Multi-trillion-dollar markets such as commercial real estate are comprised of an intricate web of interactions that strike every decision, and AI technology is now age enough to tackle these highly knotty transactions. As industry leaders are opening up to the potential of integrating advanced technology into core operations, AI is making its repercussion felt across current industries that were previously off limits. They notice asset managers looking to develop current investment vehicles defined by AI that will enable enhanced performance in uncertain economic conditions, adding value throughout the entire investment lifecycle”—Guy Zipori, CEO, Skyline AI

“Even though plane 4 and 5 autonomous vehicles (AVs) silent aren’t commercially available, 2019 will live the year that they prefer a giant leap forward. The data that AI relies on will become more readily accessible thanks to data-sharing alliances that must become a reality in order for automotive AI to help to a plane suitable for total road conditions. Simultaneously, the types of data collected for AI will live broadened to embrace non-visual data. Better data means better AI and safer AVs”—Boaz Mizrachi, Founder & CTO, Tactile Mobility

"As more businesses reckon on AI to fuel their own products, services and data-driven marketing innovations, disagreeable actors across the digital ecosystem will utilize similar capabilities to increase their efforts and execute massive fraud schemes, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in losses for brands and marketers. With that, companies that invest smartly in AI and machine learning-based fraud protection tools will live able to clearly ‘see’ the entire ecosystem and protect themselves from fraud and the polluted data that impacts commerce decisions—leading to a significant competitive advantage"—Ran Avrahamy, VP, Global Marketing, AppsFlyer

“AI research and applications are proving increasingly distinguished in healthcare, improving patient outcomes through a more personalized, data-driven approach. Just as sizable data is used to curate more satisfying user experiences, more granular ‘small data’—information generated by each individual and analyzed by AI tools, turning smartphones and consumer wearables into powerful at-home diagnostic and treatment tools—will live used to drive digital health users to action based on their real-world behavior, capabilities and needs, and to boost population health by making disease prediction and prevention scalable. In 2019, AI will live the linchpin of digital health’s application to the prevention and treatment of disease, specifically chronic illnesses, connecting the dots between the miniature data that can optimize an individual’s personal supervision and the sizable data that can uncover solutions with a global impact”—Dana Chanan, CEO and Co-Founder, Sweetch

“2019 will live a pivotal year in the way cities understand their urban mobility ecosystems in order to build much more efficient transportation systems throughout urban areas. If today’s cities are primarily focused on austere challenges such as traffic, pollution and want of parking space, in 2019 they will hold far better visibility into the root cause—inefficiency of movement in urban areas. Understanding how people are moving in urban areas, from where to where, when, with which means of transportation, and understanding why—that’s the core that will allow cities to build more efficient mobility, reducing their need to meander around, encouraging people to meander together, and creating multimodality. In order to win there, cities will need visibility into such data, and AI is precisely the utensil that will enable such visibility, fostering prediction capabilities and action points to significantly help the way they move”—Liad Itzhak, SVP Head, HERE Mobility

“There is no shortage of angst when it comes to the repercussion of AI on jobs, especially within the agricultural industry. However, the future of precision agriculture and the key to growing a better crop will reckon on AI, imagery and sensors that will live able to learn from collecting information cultivated from 1000-acre farms. Agronomists and farmers are facing a major labor shortage and want of expertise. The exact for food is increasing, yet farming is not valued as an attractive or profitable career, particularly in commodity crops. Due to the size and diversity of farming operation demands, farmers need to pay immediate attention to labor initiatives and employee management. Farms across the world are moving to fill the labor gap—not replace jobs—with AI technology”—Ofir Schlam, CEO and Cofounder, Taranis

“Brick-and-Mortar retail businesses are turning their attention to AI to significantly help customer experience, profitability and remain competitive. In 2019, they will notice emergence of current data sources (surveillance cameras, on-the-shelf-cameras, robots) and AI models for inventory management, better customer retail experiences, targeted marketing, and adding current capabilities such as self-checkout. The key challenge, however, is to develop and scale AI operations to thousands of retail stores that vary in planograms, camera models, and network infrastructure capabilities”—Atif Kureishy, Vice President Global Emerging Practices, Teradata

"I anticipate we'll notice AI-based attribution tools hitting their stride in 2019. In today’s digital environment, attribution continues to live a challenge—businesses are silent piecing together data points from different platforms and many are silent struggling to understand the complete path to purchase—which marketing channels are driving revenue? What kinds of content help retain customers and at which stage of the customer journey? Where are customers falling out of the funnel? AI can sequence the customer journey together and identify when a customer comes to a company's site and leaves without converting. It's the businesses that adopt AI-powered attribution tools that will hold a leg up on the competition"—Carl Schmidt, CTO and co-founder, Unbounce

“The future of third-party data is faultfinding for marketers to wait actionable and competitive in a fast-moving technology landscape. The culmination of high-profile corporate privacy scandals and current wide-sweeping data legislation has forced consumers to win to grips with their digital footprints and has caused them to live more faultfinding over how they are targeted. moving forward, third party data will help marketers congregate more insights surrounding how consumers consume emerging technologies such as voice, location-based search and AI, so they can target them in a way that is compliant and drives ROI. This data will remain key to informing the bulk of marketing strategy for years to come"—Chase Buckle, Senior Trends Analyst, GlobalWebIndex

This will bring more attention to demur storage, which is centered on metadata, and the key will live integrating well with AI tools”—Jon Toor, CMO, Cloudian

“Centralized data will live replaced by a unique view of total data. Data is coming at us from different directions, at different speeds, and in different formats, and controlling this tsunami is one of the key markers of empowerment and success in the information age. Two massive trends are changing the landscape. First, different vendors are coming together to standardize data models. Second, and more important, is the emergence of enterprise data catalogs. These catalogs are accessible in a hub, with one view of the entire federated data estate, and deliver a shop-for-data marketplace experience. The more you share, collaborate, and consume the hub, the more valuable it becomes to the business. Furthermore, it links your analytics strategy with your enterprise data management strategy, as the data becomes analysis-ready”—Dan Sommer, Senior Director, Qlik

“The modern enterprise will continue to edge out technologies enjoy Hadoop. The merger of Hortonworks and Cloudera was a first witness into the projected value for Hadoop in 2019. “AI and machine learning (ML) hold been the ‘silver bullets’ of the security industry for the past few years. Malicious actors are taking note. For instance, just enjoy security vendors can train their ML models on malware samples to detect them, malware writers can ‘train’ or tune their malware to avoid detection using the same exact algorithms. Attackers can furthermore poison the data that ML models consume in training. Because algorithms need massive amounts of data to work, it can live difficult to weed out efforts to poison your learning set with mistaken information. They believe a significant beset or strain of malware will leverage AI in 2019”—Nir Gaist, CTO, Nyotron

“AI has the potential to repercussion the retail sector in a number of ways, but most notably in 2019, they can anticipate increased product innovation in the supply chain. As the technology advances in the coming year, it will toil pretty well for the most part. However, its occasional mistakes will antecedent significant issues, enjoy fiscal and reputational damage, for businesses. Most users will find slips in security utterly incomprehensible and security companies will hold an especially arduous time explaining the matter to customers”—Nathaniel Borenstein, Chief Scientist, Mimecast

“Enterprises will focus seriously on data privacy initiatives to comply with EU laws (GDPR) or state laws (e.g., CCPA) in 2019, but probably for less obvious reasons. It is not so much the fines per se which can ambit up to 4% of global sales, since it’s uncertain whether such hefty fines will live levied so early; rather, top management and board directors are concerned about their fiduciary responsibility to ensure that proper measures are taken to preclude such austere fines, which could yield significant fiscal distress or reputational damage. Separately, it should live famed that the customary risk-deflection manner of buying insurance against fines is not yet available in most countries”—Kon Leong, CEO and Co-founder, ZL Technologies

“In 2019, the value statement of every vendor that builds AI systems should focus on BOTH the value they wish to create AND the underlying virtuous foundation of their service. How they collect data, with whom they participate that data, and what they discontinue up doing with that data will increasingly need a litmus test for what is acceptable and not. That litmus test needs to live portion of the culture of the vendor—it needs to Come from the inside out. While this will feel too ‘touchy-feely’ and constraining to some vendors, it is absolutely necessary for long-term commerce viability to establish faith credibly across their user communities. Without transparency, there is no trust. Without trust, there is no data. Without data, there is no AI”—Ojas Rege, Chief Strategy Officer, MobileIron

They need to know computer science, data science, and above all, need to hold domain expertise to live able to advise disagreeable data from estimable data and disagreeable results from estimable results. What they hold already begun seeing is the need for security experts who understand data science and computer science to live able to first execute sense of the security data available to us today. Once this data is prepared, processed and interpreted, it can then live used by AI and ML techniques to automate security in real time”—Setu Kulkarni, Vice President of Corporate Strategy, WhiteHat Security

“A top tech trend of 2019 will live the repercussion machine learning/AI on the character of software. In the past, we’ve designed delivery processes to live scrawny and reduce or liquidate fritter but to me, that’s an outdated, glass-half-empty way of viewing the process. In 2019, if they want to fully leverage ML/AI, they need to understand that the contrary of waste is value and prefer a glass-half-full view that becoming more efficient means increasing value, rather than reducing waste”—Bob Davis, CMO, Plutora

“Companies will realize AI is an investment in the transformation of their internal processes, not just a feature that can live turned on to magically fix inefficiencies. On the vendor side, technology providers will execute AI tools and platforms easier to implement and achieve in place, and the dissimilarity between technology leaders who can truly create this change within an organization and those who are trying to capitalize on the hype will become more and more vivid”—Connie Schiefer, VP Product Management, Mya Systems

But that’s just the beginning. sizable tech companies are already dawn to consume their advantages in AI and data to compass beyond their traditional markets into entirely current ones. Amazon has its eyes on entertainment and healthcare. Google is looking at the future of transportation. No company is safe from AI driven disruption and we’ll notice this trend continue to accelerate next year. If companies are silly enough to live caught off guard, they’ll quickly succeed in Sears’ footsteps, unable to adapt to the current digital world where AI and ML reign supreme. The hype around AI for automating everything will die down, though the urgency to create more efficient processes will only increase”—Sudheesh Nair, CEO, ThoughtSpot

“2019 will live the year that simulated intelligence companies inaugurate dismissing efforts to modify broken hardware and processes. Instead, they’ll set their sights on holistic ecosystems that reimagine and reshape the way they design processes altogether. While the technological aspects of this process overhaul will live what drives the necessary sea change, we’ll Come to realize that an even larger opening lies in using advanced technologies to optimize human behaviors anywhere they intersect with commerce process flow”—Alan O’Herliy, CEO, Everseen

“In 2019, we’ll cease doubting humans’ role in the fourth industrial revolution—nor shake they don’t hold one. It will become clear that the relationship between machines and humans is not either-or, but rather, it’s highly symbiotic. We’ll realize how crucial it is to marry human insight with AI in order to compass both AI’s and humans’ potential. We’re already seeing that the AI solutions succeeding at both the department- and enterprise-level are those that leverage humans to set forth the larger strategic vision and drive the instinctual and intuitive elements of any knotty process. Solutions that are built to capitalize on this give-and-take between man and machine will yield the best outcomes and flavor rapid adoption, as a result”—Or Shani, CEO, Albert Technologies

“Almost total software companies know every click that a user makes in their applications. What's been missing is a loyal understanding of what the user was trying to accomplish and whether they succeeded or failed. 2019 will live the year that AI-driven technologies will inaugurate understanding the dissimilarity between user intent and basic software functionality. Armed with this information, companies can target individual, team, and role improvement efforts. And software companies can intervene proactively with customers who are on the path to sub-optimal outcomes. Additionally, this will inform software companies and their customers of the potential need for application or commerce process optimization”—Michael Graham, CEO, Epilogue Systems

“When it comes to using simulated intelligence in recruiting in 2019, talent acquisition teams will live adopting it with cautious optimism. While organizations using AI earlier in the hiring process hold seen promising results, it’s clear that the technology is silent in its early adoption phase and AI is being used to inform better, faster and smarter hiring decisions, not execute them. However, they may notice more widespread adoption of AI to reduce the amount of time recruiters expend on mundane tasks so they can consume their time on more meaningful candidate interactions”—Kurt Heikkinen, CEO, Montage

“We anticipate to notice AI used more in higher education in 2019 as institutions continue their digital transformation journeys and witness to appeal to students’ preferences for adaptive, engaging learning experiences. Particularly necessary Gen Z, universities and professors need to meet students where they are at—online. As Gen Z is fully integrated with a digital era, their learning preferences will reflect differently than generations before them. Using resources with AI components such as AI teaching assistants, online courses and writing centers will start to live used more frequently across campuses”—Kanuj Malhotra, EVP of Corporate development and President of Digital Solutions, Barnes & Noble Education

“As automated technologies shape the workplace in 2019, it’s distinguished for companies to reflect about how the onslaught of technology will repercussion their company culture in the short and long-term. Many organizations are already using AI to search for talent, but when it comes to other areas of the workplace where employees will live encountering AI on a daily basis, companies need to understand employee perceptions from the start. Before rolling out any current technology platforms, businesses need to live prepared to communicate the value the product will bring to the organization, how it will strike employees for the better, and the positive repercussion it will hold on productivity and engagement. In doing this, companies will set their organizations up for success when implementing current technologies”—Andee Harris, President, HighGround/YouEarnedIt

“We prognosticate simulated intelligence will become more prominent in the insurance industry in 2019 as more insurtech companies and carriers utilize the technology in their customer flavor strategies. At the same time, they furthermore don’t believe that AI will supplant the human insurance agent in the current year or in years to come. Though machine-learning models can live used to help agents become better advisors to their customers, the human finger will always live distinguished in insurance”—Jeff Somers, President, Insureon

“As AI continues to live more prevalent, it is undeniable that automated decisioning will supplant traditional white-collar workers. This means AI systems will live making the decisions instead of humans for anything from approving loans or deciding whether a customer should live onboarded to identifying corruption and fiscal crime. This is several from Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which simply emulates human decisioning. Instead, loyal AI systems will meander beyond human capability. They can furthermore anticipate to notice greater understanding in the boardroom about what AI really means—including hard-nosed figures around competitive advance, reducing costs of operations and removing headcount. anticipate to notice this C-suite understanding trigger issues around unions and job security as a result of significant operational changes”—Imam Hoque, COO & Head of Product, Quantexa

“While smart virtual assistants and conversational AI will gain a lot of traction in 2019, a big focus of machine learning and its superset simulated intelligence will live on understanding content. AI will live used to filter out what is real and what is not, what is commandeer and what is not. And while strides will live made in understanding content in that context better, the bigger challenge is training data without applying biases. This catch-22 is what makes this problem extremely difficult to solve, but one that will hold a lot of attention in 2019”—Sameer Kamat, CEO, Filestack

“Alongside the increase in exact for AI within companies, we’ve furthermore seen a continued shortage of trained data scientists. To increase the adoption of AI, AI platforms will need to empower traditional developers with tools to enable them to create machine learning models faster, as well as ensure they hold an integrated platform that will allow developers to annotate and label the data needed to help the accuracy of their models”—Dale Brown, VP of commerce Development, design Eight

“The biggest threat to US and Europe is the rapid advances in AI coming out of China. China is undoubtedly an AI juggernaut and will completely outmaneuver the west if we’re not careful. Why? Because the success of AI is tied to the availability of massive amounts of organized data. In China, it is socially acceptable to trade private, personal information, for miniature amounts of monetary value / perks. For better or for worse, this gives companies who operate in the country a massive handicap over companies here. If they want to compete, they need a solution to the data problem, and fast”—Hanns Wolfram Tappeiner, Co-Founder and President, Anki

“The need for AI-enabled search and analytics solutions will become more prevalent in 2019. Traditional search functions will give way to the emergence of cognitive search, resulting in AI-driven solutions to help enterprises un-trap their data and derive more valuable information and insights. By 2020, cognitive search will streamline information to the point of reducing reactive searching by 20%--and organizations need to live ready for this in the year ahead”—Kamran Khan, Managing Director of Search and Content Analytics, Accenture Applied Intelligence

“In 2019, we’ll notice more organizations move to glass box AI, which exposes the connections that the technology makes between various data points. For instance, glass box AI not only tells you there is a current retail opportunity, it furthermore uncovers how that opening was identified in the data. It furthermore provides retailers with an opening to check their data—and any public or aggregate data they tug in—to ensure AI isn’t making disagreeable assumptions under the adage ‘garbage in, garbage out’”—Nikki Baird, Vice President of Retail Innovation, Aptos

“With an increasing availability of simulated Intelligence (AI) capabilities driven by cloud computing, AI will execute its way into video conferencing in 2019 in everything from meeting margin activity analysis and efficiency, understanding participants’ reactions to given messaging, automated joining procedures, and platform utilization. As organizations quest to optimize their services and toil more efficiently, it’s only natural that AI, now readily accessible to assist with predictive analysis and turning data into actionable insights, will transform conferencing and collaboration as they know it”—Jordan Owens, VP of Architecture, Pexip

“We will in the near future notice the lines between audio content and written content disappear. total audio will live searchable in the same manner the text-based web is today, and total text will live accessible as audio, with your favorite voice (Artificial Morgan Freeman?) reading it back to you. As voice assistants and search algorithms continue to advance, you will soon live able to hold a human-like conversation with your assistant, who has instant access to total the information in the world”—Johan Billgren, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Acast

“In 2019, I prognosticate that it will become clear that the information and analytics systems that are on the bleeding edge of creating and policing truth—particularly AI-based technologies—are themselves portion of the ‘bias’ problem. This will lead to the start of a fundamental shift in how they reflect about truth—not in binary terms—but as points on a spectrum, with underlying information systems and analytics systems under fire for their inability to either measure or enforce the integrity of their underlying data sets and analytics methods”—Kris Lovejoy, CEO, BluVector

“I anticipate 2019 will live the year we’ll notice an explosion of production applications leveraging simulated intelligence. The tools and models available on the market are ready for prime time, which means it will live far easier for companies of total sizes to deploy knowing applications. Along with that, we’ll furthermore notice further soul-searching and advocacy around what role firms providing machine learning services should play in ensuring the ethical consume of their products. AI experts carry a mighty deal of clout in that conversation, since the services ultimately won’t toil without their help. It will live absorbing to notice what norms emerge out of that process”—Blair Hanley Frank, Principal Analyst, ISG

“For enterprises, 2019 is the year early adopters of an AI platform strategy will flavor a leap ahead of their less innovative competitors. There will live clear winners, and clear losers in terms of both market participate and margin growth. The investments made in automating data ingestion, and structure machine learning algorithms will kick into the tall gear of self-learning. It’s this phase—when ongoing patterns in data spur self-learning—that result in benefits that start to scale across the total organization”—Dr. Anil Kaul, CEO and Co-Founder, Absolutdata

“Organizations will flavor further disillusionment with total the vague hype around machine learning and AI. They’ll increasingly realize that accurate predictions require not just a big volume of training data, but a particular type—behavioral metadata. Analysis of this data can live mined to better shine a spotlight on  what’s used and what’s useful. This is the same insight that drove Google Search’s ranking prowess two decades ago: the content of a webpage was less predictive of its utility than how often other pages—built by other people—linked to it. As the ML/AI buzz continues to wear thin, we’ll notice a tough appetite emerge for this ilk of impact-driven technology and behavioral metadata among organizations”—Aaron Kalb, VP of Design and Strategic Initiatives and Co-founder, Alation

“Last year was the year of the data scientist—enterprises focused heavily on hiring and empowering data scientists to create advanced analytics and machine learning models. 2019 is the year of the data engineer. Data engineers will find themselves in tall demand—they specialize in translating the toil of data scientists into hardened, data-driven software solutions for the business. This involves creating in-depth AI development, testing, DevOps and auditing processes that enable a company to incorporate AI and data pipelines at scale across the enterprise”—Nima Negahban, CTO and Co-founder, Kinetica

“AI will fundamentally automate the order-taking side of sales and empower successful reps to become consultants to buyers, helping both parties learn the faultfinding resources needed to inform their buying and selling decisions. AI-powered innovation will anticipate sales challenges and buyer objections and extract insights to better prognosticate success during the buyer-seller engagement. In the post-sales phase, AI can pinpoint best practices and identify factors affecting customer flavor to help increase both upselling and word-of-mouth selling. Finally, AI will rapidly yield a more coachable, customer-informed sales rep who is smarter, nimbler and better prepared to sell successfully”—Yuchun Lee, CEO and Co-founder, Allego

“Over the next few years, AI will live increasingly used to dynamically modify and serve creative content based on what’s pertinent in a given context, for a given audience. The goal and opening is to meet the audience where they are—whether being served content in a browser, interacting with a physical product and launching a digital flavor by scanning packaging, or at home conversing with branded content using a voice assistant. While creative teams and designers will silent determine the aesthetic and tone for a given piece of content, their role becomes even more crucial as the designers of generative frameworks, determining which elements in an flavor to execute springy while silent maintaining the core of the creative concept”—Claire Mitchell, Director, VaynerSmart

“While 2018 saw many retailers and brands gain more familiarity with AI and its potential consume cases, 2019 will notice those applications achieve into practice. AI will fundamentally change the way consumers interact with brands, and I anticipate that to become abundantly clear in 2019 through current levels of personalization. Brands that adopt the consume of AI to optimize the customer flavor will notice the implementation inaugurate to repercussion their bottom line”—Adam Goldenberg, Co-CEO and Co-founder, TechStyle mode Group

“Thus far, the capabilities of AI hold been zeroed in on solving the problems they know—more efficiently extracting patterns and insights from massive data sets we’ve always been confidential with historically. Next year will bring the greater potential of AI into focus, demonstrating its capacity to digitize things that previously couldn’t live digitized and insert completely current data sets that change the status quo and solve problems they didn’t know they could. Video AI will live a mighty specimen of this, helping swirl physical settings into actionable data that companies in retail and other sectors can utilize to strengthen customer experiences enjoy never before—and unlock current services and customer value they may not hold even thought about bringing to market”—Michael Adair, President and CEO, deep North

“Personalization has long been the holy grail for marketers and everyone agrees results help by knowing what customers supervision about and engage with. Today’s marketers hold more behavioral data than ever, but often don’t hold the time, resources or information to properly consume it to tailor their approach. In 2019, AI technology will address this issue, ultimately benefiting customers and commerce results. As marketers test machine learning, creative strategy will need to evolve”—Cody Bender, Chief Product Officer, drive Monitor

“2019 will live a pivotal year for AI in the workplace—it will live the year they meander from conversation to impact. We’ll inaugurate seeing AI integrated more deeply into the day-to-day employee flavor through things enjoy digital assistants, whether it’s voice, SMS or another channel. I reflect we’ll furthermore notice AI-based digital assistants more front-and-center for current employees, taking a larger role in processes enjoy onboarding or skills training”—Gretchen Alarcon, GVP of HCM Strategy, Oracle

"One of the biggest challenges in translating lab performance into the clinical setting is the skill to consistently replicate results over time, location and assay—hence the need for rock-solid character systems and standards that provide quantifiable reliability over cohorts. As they meander into 2019, they are dawn to notice real results on how they can apply simulated intelligence to a traditionally painfully laborious and human-driven process that used to prefer weeks and bring it down to real-time monitoring. When applied properly, streamlining and expediting this process ensures that any variability in the workflow—from the sample collection, processing, and total the way to instrument ingestion—is drastically minimized and hence the results become supremely reproducible, and where potentially actionable and clinically pertinent information is derived in mere seconds”—Aldo Carrasco, CEO, InterVenn Biosciences

“Our fascination with the consume of computing power to augment human decision-making has likely outgrown even the tremendous advances made in algorithmic approaches. In reality, the successful consume of AI and related techniques is silent limited to areas around image recognition and natural language understanding, where input/output scenarios can live reasonably constructed, and that will not change drastically in 2019. The thought that any commerce can ‘turn on AI’ to become successful or more successful is preposterous, no matter how much data is being collected. But the collection of data to champion humans and algorithms continues and raises distinguished ethical questions and is something they need to pay immediate attention to over the next few years. Data is human and therefore is just as messy as humans. Data does not create objectivity. It is well established that data and algorithms perpetuate existing biases and automated decisions are—at best—difficult to intricate and justify. Appealing such decisions is even harder when they topple into the trap of thinking data and algorithms combine to create objective truth. With greater decision-making power comes much greater responsibility, and humans will increasingly live held accountable for the repercussion of decisions their commerce makes”—Christian Beedgen, Co-founder and CTO, Sumo Logic

“In 2018, they saw many examples of adversarial AI algorithms attempting to fool humans, enjoy Buzzfeed’s video of President Obama delivering fake sentences in a convincing fashion. Soon they can anticipate to notice this concept evolve into a current class of cybercrime in which malicious content is automatically generated by AI algorithms—a current category they define as ‘DeepAttacks.’ DeepAttacks can manifest themselves at scale by generating code within malware files, creating fake network traffic in botnets, or in the profile of fake URLs or HTML webpages. Next year, I anticipate hackers to deploy DeepAttacks more frequently in an attempt to evade both human eyes and smart defenses”—Rajarshi Gupta, Head of AI, Avast Software

“Concerns about AI and privacy were a tropical topic in 2018 – businesses are increasingly seeking insights into their data through the power of AI, but in order to win those insights, they must participate the data with third parties. Ensuring data privacy, and in swirl customer privacy, is a challenge they must solve to realize the benefits of AI. In 2019 we’ll notice more solutions emerge to enable AI applications while maintaining airtight privacy using cryptography. One of the most exciting emerging encryption technologies is homomorphic encryption (HE), which is a specific way of encrypting data so that third parties can operate on the encrypted data and silent consume privacy-preserving machine learning techniques to glean valuable insights. We’re seeing this technique emerge in discussions at NeurIPS and in some public solutions already, such as Microsoft SEAL and HE-Transformer, and anticipate innovations around AI privacy and encryption to explode next year”--Casimir Wierzynski, Senior Director, Office of the CTO, simulated Intelligence Products Group, Intel

"AI will execute a huge repercussion on cybersecurity by increasing exponentially the skill to detect rogue patterns and foul play, and in time will help significantly on human skill to analyse data effectively, which will lead to even faster detection and response capabilities via machine learning. Being realistic, however, it is not going to live possible for AI to liquidate security breaches entirely. This is a classic case of the trade-off between the acceptable rate of mistaken positives (where a legitimate activity is blocked because it’s erroneously assessed to live malign) and mistaken negatives (where a calumniate activity isn’t identified as such). To drive the mistaken negative rate immediate to zero, an unacceptably tall rate of legitimate activities would hold to win blocked”—Richard Anton, Co-founder, Oxx

“In the automotive world, leading automakers and component suppliers are constantly looking for differentiation through AI, and as a result, there is currently a major shift underway from the rigid hardware solutions that started the AI revolution to more flexible, software-based ones that can live easily tailored to customer needs. In 2019 and beyond, AI will increasingly exist on the edge, as concerns around privacy, security and latency execute edge-AI preferable over the traditional approach that relies on centralized AI systems. Manufacturers, however, are struggling with the consequences of adding AI to their edge-based products, mainly due to the expensive, bulky and power-consuming hardware required for running them. They’re seeking slimmer, battery friendly, and more cost-effective embedded solutions. This is why we’ll furthermore witness a growing exact for more practical AI that can live mainstreamed affordably, without requiring massive hardware or cloud, and without compromising on character or performance”—Adi Pinhas, Co-founder and CEO, Brodmann17

Retail modularity based on data and AI-driven insights could literally lead to dynamic rearrangements within the store. This already happens to a degree with seasonal changes such as moving barbecue items to prominent positions as summer approaches. But now it will live possible for more granular changes. For example, the baby food and Hamburger Helper moves to the discontinue cap on Sunday-Tuesday, but chips and beer meander to the discontinue cap on Thursday-Saturday. Roll away a brace of center-store fixtures on the weekend to execute margin for the olive bar installation. Flip the store layout by day of week”—Tony Rodriguez, CTO, Digimarc

“Artificial and augmented intelligence will help address their nation’s mental health crisis. According to the National Institute of Health, nearly one in five American adults suffers from a profile of mental illness. There are significant barriers to seeking care, including stigma, affordability and access. In 2018, the U.S. advice cycle was dominated by tall profile personage suicides, the constant drumbeat of emotionally charged stories in the news, and divisive midterm elections. That brought distinguished conversations about mental health and depression to light for many people, thereby reducing the stigma. AI will live able to help scale access to qualified providers and execute it affordable for people to win the perquisite plane of care. Combined with technologies enjoy teletherapy and telepsychiatry, it will play an increasingly distinguished role in improving collaborative care. AI tools and data-driven algorithms will help clinicians track patient histories, identify times of crisis, and provide personalized supervision for individuals to reduce symptoms and help outcomes”—Karan Singh, Co-Founder, Ginger.io

“AI will power cyberattacks more and more. In fact, it is reasonable to assume that armies of AI hackers will hold greater, faster penetration with more automation, allowing hackers to achieve greater success executing cyberattacks. Cyber defense must witness to AI for the faster analytics needed to find malicious activities. With machine learning and AI-driven response, security teams can automate triage and prioritization while reducing mistaken positives by up to 91%. Enterprises will quest innovative solutions that enable them to wait ahead of the next unknown threat”—Gilad Peleg, CEO, SecBI

“In 2019, AI technology will finally live able to help not just identify attacks, but furthermore provide evidence-based guidance on how security teams can and should respond to threats. In many situations, AI will live able to respond without the intervention of SOC teams at all. Because AI is constantly learning, the technology is poised to wait in step with attackers ever-changing tools and techniques. Overall, AI expedites the time from beset identification to remediation by eliminating many of the challenges and burdens that hold traditionally slowed-down the process. The implementation of such AI-driven technology will result in a major risk reduction for enterprises of total sizes”—Eyal Benishti, Founder & CEO, IRONSCALES

“Machines will inaugurate to understand antecedent and effect—today, when machines (such as chatbots and virtual assistants enjoy Siri and Alexa) respond to us, it’s purely based on correlations. They execute not hold an understanding of causation. But as machines are getting more disparate sources of data, they will inaugurate to better understand the causal relationship between a big set of variables. As humans, they learn about antecedent and result over time through unadulterated common sense. In 2019, we’ll notice this Come to fruition with machines as they collect and feed them more disparate data sources that enable them to build conditional probability distribution to understand the direction of causality”—Michael Wu, Ph.D., Chief AI Strategist, PROS
